Hold onto your hats, folks, because it looks like the Democrats are at it again, trying to paint law enforcement as the bad guys. In a recent Senate hearing, Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons dropped a bombshell: there are about 1.6 million illegal aliens with final deportation orders in the United States. And guess what? Half of them have criminal convictions. Shocker!
During his testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Lyons made it clear who’s really issuing these deportation orders—spoiler alert, it’s not ICE! These orders come straight from immigration judges at the Department of Justice. But let’s not let facts get in the way of a good political outrage, right?
Sen. James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma, took the opportunity to thank the hardworking folks in immigration enforcement, reminding the committee about the chaos from two years ago when 10,000 people were illegally crossing the border each day. But instead of tackling the problem, some Democrats seem more interested in pointing fingers and threatening to defund the Department of Homeland Security. Because, you know, that’ll surely solve the issue.
The drama doesn’t stop there. In Minnesota, where ICE has been busy arresting thousands of violent illegal immigrants, controversy rages on. Two activists were killed in confrontations with federal officers, and now Democrats are up in arms, demanding changes to enforcement methods. It’s almost as if they’ve forgotten who’s really responsible for keeping our communities safe.
Lankford summed it up perfectly, lamenting the loss of perspective. While law enforcement officers are busy preventing chaos, protesters are out there throwing rocks and disturbing church services. Peaceful protest, they call it. It seems the hypocrisy knows no bounds.
