Patriotism is to the modern left what holy water is to a vampire. Increasingly, it seems that any demonstration or statement that shows pride in the United States, her military, and her culture, draws nothing but disdain and ire from those on the left. Now that President Trump is wanting to throw a parade for the military, it’s more of the same from Democrats in the press and in Washington.
Liberals have compared Donald Trump’s military parade to the propaganda parades put on by North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, as if showing pride in your military automatically equates you to a murderous dictator. They’ve tried to use the money the parade would cost as an excuse to oppose it, in spite of the fact that they have no problem spending taxpayer money sheltering illegals and funding abortions.
The reality is, though, that they’re not fooling anyone. Their real reason for whining about this parade could not be more clear: the modern left has grown to hate our military and everything it stands for. To them, patriotism has become a form of bigotry, leaving us to wonder how long a nation can survive when so many of its citizens, its media, and its elected officials oppose everything it represents.
