Democrats Back off Saying Trump Colluded with Russia

Ah, the Democrats. If only they could fess up and admit that their obsession with Russian influence on the Trump campaign of 2016 is all based on hot air and hype. But it seems only a few brave souls on the Left are willing to go there, at least for now.

Still, the longer this charade that the Trump administration has denied and labeled “fake news” countless times continues, the more the public’s patience with the Democrats is starting to wear thin — and then some. Up to now, no “smoking gun” that could indict, impeach or impugn the president has come to light, despite multiple Democratic talking heads swearing up and down that such evidence does exist… or did exist… or hopefully, will exist… someday. Maybe they can put out a proposal for a government contractor to create it.

In all seriousness, however, this is increasingly looking like the scandal that wasn’t, and if no compromising evidence is ultimately found, Democrats may end up pointing the fingers at each other trying to assign blame for who came up with this hare-brained scheme to begin with.

Of course, just because there’s no collusion doesn’t mean Special Counsel Robert Mueller will call off his ongoing investigation into President Trump. Special counsels are notorious for expanding their scope to explore previously irrelevant tangents as Kenneth Starr did when he uncovered the Monica Lewinsky affair with ex-President Clinton (he was originally tasked only with looking into the Whitewater shenanigans).

Watch as the Washington Free Beacon pokes fun at the Lefties who cried ‘Wolf!’ (in more ways than one).
