Democrat Senator Calls Out Own Party on Shutdown

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a Democrat admitting the Democrats are the problem. Senator John Fetterman—yes, the guy from Pennsylvania who walks the halls of Congress in a hoodie and shorts—went on CNN and flat-out blamed his own party for the ongoing government shutdown. Democrats are finally starting to say the quiet part out loud about their party.

“We are hurting the very people that we fight for,” Fetterman told Jake Tapper. “I feel like the Democrats really need to own the shutdown.” He’s not sugarcoating it. He’s not spinning it. He’s calling out his team for lighting the match and watching the place burn.

This shutdown isn’t just politics as usual. Real people are getting hit hard. SNAP benefits—what most folks call food stamps—have been cut off to the 42 million Americans who depend on them to help make ends meet. And what are Democrats doing? Playing chicken with working families’ dinner tables because they want to push tax credits through a government shutdown. Brilliant strategy.

Fetterman didn’t stop there. He said, “Right now, by doing this… you’re not going to get your SNAP benefits, and you’re not going to get those kind of tax credits that we all need.” So basically, Democrats are holding the government hostage and getting absolutely nothing in return. Genius.

And here’s where it gets juicy: Fetterman’s own party is now turning on him. According to Axios, Democrat insiders are already plotting his replacement in 2028 because he’s not left-wing enough. That’s how insane the Democrat Party has become. If you don’t scream “Defund the Police” or “Open Borders” loud enough, they’ll toss you aside like yesterday’s talking points.

Fetterman may still vote with the Democrats most of the time, but at least he’s honest enough to admit when they screw up. That’s more than you can say for the rest of them.
