President-elect Donald Trump has proposed the creation of a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which aims to stop the government from wasting taxpayer money and while most of the country supports it, the only people who seem to hate it are Democrat politicians.
Why? These Democrats fear that their days of collecting easy paychecks off of hardworking Americans are OVER thanks to DOGE and as a result they’re attacking it with everything they’ve got.
Democrat Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA) and what she had to say about DOGE truly is the perfect evidence of that.
The California congresswoman claimed that DOGE is both “unconstitutional and illegal” during a discussion with CNN’s Jim Acosta.
Asked about DOGE, she said that it’s “illegal” because “the impoundment of funds that have been appropriated by the Congress is unconstitutional and illegal.”
“There is no such Department of Government Efficiency it’s made up. So good luck to them.”
She argued further that the Legislative branch controls the purse and she intends to keep it that way. A quick look at her background reveals why.
Lofgren is 76 years-old and was first elected to Congress in 1994… 30 years ago.
Before that, she worked as a staffer for several Democrat congressmen, and served on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
All told, this Democrat has spent the vast majority of her life living off of the taxpayer dime having worked in the public sector for MORE THAN 50 YEARS.
It’s not exactly shocking that she hates the idea of reducing the size of our government considering she’s become a millionaire from “working” in it.
And this is the story for pretty much every Democrat who has an issue with cutting back on government spending. The only thing they care about is THEIR POCKETS and the less of our tax money there is to float around, the less of it mysteriously ends up in their bank accounts.
