Dem Rep Eric Swalwell Forced to Admit He Would Eliminate Private Insurance after CNN Host Calls Him Out

Not many Democrats are fully open and transparent about their far-left, socialist ideas in the same way as politicians such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. However, there are several 2020 declared Democrats who are just as far to the left as these two examples when the doors are closed and the cameras aren’t rolling. The flip-flopping Democratic representative Eric Swalwell falls into this latter category.

As a co-sponsor for the Medicare for All bill, Swalwell has signed his name to a document that would make it illegal for private insurance companies to sell health insurance. At the same time, though, Swalwell has insisted that he does not support eliminating private insurance altogether. After agreeing to what Swalwell probably hoped would be a softball interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, though, he was forced to reconcile these two positions.

After some badgering, Swalwell was forced to admit that he did support completely eliminating private health insurance in the United States. No longer able to hide under the guise of double-speak and deflection, Swalwell had to show his true colors as a far-left, socialist politician who supports ideas so radical and foreign to the American way of government that they constitute a dramatic – and dangerous – overhaul of our current system.
