Dearborn Mayor Sparks Outrage, Tells Christian to Leave

Well, it looks like “tolerance” in Dearborn only runs one way—and spoiler alert—it’s not toward Christians.

In a jaw-dropping moment that’s now lighting up social media, Dearborn’s Muslim mayor, Abdullah Hammoud, told a Christian resident he’s “not welcome” in the city for daring to question why local streets are now honoring a man with a history of praising terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.

Yes, you read that right. A sitting mayor told a Christian citizen to get lost—all because he didn’t want his neighborhood streets named after someone who literally cheers on jihad.

Here’s how it went down.

Edward “Ted” Barham, a longtime Dearborn resident, showed up to a City Council meeting to voice his concerns about new street signs going up along Warren Avenue. The signs honor Osama Siblani, publisher of Arab American News and a guy who’s been very cozy with groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Barham calmly referenced Siblani’s own past remarks. One quote in particular stood out—Siblani saying that “the blood of the martyrs irrigates the land of Palestine” and that “everyone should fight within his means,” whether that’s with “stones, guns, planes, drones, or rockets.” Real peaceful stuff, right?

Barham, speaking as a Christian and a resident, said the move was a slap in the face to people who value peace and oppose terrorism. He even quoted scripture—“Blessed are the peacemakers”—as he asked why Dearborn was celebrating someone with that kind of violent rhetoric.

But instead of responding with any dignity, Mayor Hammoud went full rage mode.

He called Barham a bigot, a racist, and an Islamophobe. Then he dropped the real bomb: “Although you live here, I want you to know as mayor, you are not welcome here. And the day you move out of the city will be the day that I launch a parade celebrating the fact that you moved out.”

That’s not leadership. That’s a tantrum.

What’s even more insane is that this whole street sign stunt wasn’t even done by the city—it was Wayne County’s decision. But instead of defusing the situation, Hammoud doubled down and made it personal. The message is loud and clear: if you don’t fall in line with his political views, you can pack your bags.

So just to recap: A U.S. mayor told a Christian he isn’t welcome in his own city for disagreeing with honoring a guy who basically cheers for terrorists. And the left wants to lecture us about “democracy dying in darkness”?

Dearborn is now the canary in the coal mine. This is what happens when identity politics becomes the only thing that matters. When leaders care more about appeasing radical ideologies than protecting free speech or basic American values.

And here’s the kicker. The man being honored with street signs? He’s not some fringe blogger. Osama Siblani has been praised by Democrat politicians and propped up as a “community leader.” That should tell you everything you need to know about where the modern Left is heading.

You want unity? Then stop silencing dissent. You want peace? Stop celebrating people who glorify war. And if you’re a mayor in America, maybe don’t tell your own citizens they’re not welcome in the city they call home.

Because in this country, we don’t have second-class citizens. We have freedom of speech. We have freedom of religion. And we have the right to call out the glorification of terrorism—without being told to shut up and get out.

This story’s going viral for a reason. People are waking up. And if Mayor Hammoud thinks he can bully his way through this, he’s got another thing coming.
