After championing a $15/hour minimum wage for years, and sadly, getting their way in many parts of the country, Democrats are now saying it’s just not enough – calling instead for a $50/hour minimum wage.
They’ve absolutely lost their minds.
Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee recently argued in a debate that businesses in the state of California should be forced to pay workers $50-an-hour because of the exorbitantly high cost of living.
“In the Bay Area, I believe it was the United Way that came out with a report that very recently $127,000 for a family of four is just barely enough to get by,” Lee said. “Another survey very recently: $104,000. For a family of one, barely enough to get by low income because of the affordability crisis.”
However, it’s important to note that the living cost is so high in the state BECAUSE of leftist policies like forcing business to pay wages that they can’t afford! Now what do you think a $50 wage will do to that cost of living?
Businesses are already fleeing the state of California at a RAPID pace due in equal parts to the failing economy mixed with the oppressive government that makes it impossible to operate freely.
Combine that with Biden’s out-of-control inflation that continues to drive prices up all over the country and a $50 minimum wage would completely IMPLODE the state of California, not that Democrat policies have ever actually been designed to help America anyways.
