Democrat House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff obtained and published personal call records of his political rival, Republican Devin Nunes… and Republicans in Congress aren’t sitting still for it.
The Washington Examiner reports that Schiff managed to obtain 3,500 pages of phone records that included calls between Nunes and President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and between Nunes and Giuliani associate Lev Parnas.
In a heated House floor exchange, Republican Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana demanded of Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland, “How many other members of Congress is the chairman spying on… This is unprecedented. I’ve never seen a chairman of a committee abuse their subpoena power to go after other members of Congress that they have political agreements with or members of the press that they have political disagreements with. That’s over the line. It’s an abuse of power.”
Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon, the top Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, said he was “deeply troubled” by Schiff’s actions and he was surprised AT&T handed over the information.
Nunes said in a Fox News interview that he is working with Republican leaders “to see what recourse we can take.”
Watch the video and learn why political pundit Tim Pool says it’s essential for Republicans to know exactly what they are saying before they call their Democrat opponents “liars.” As Pool says, “They are, there’s just a better way to prove it.”
