Corporate-sponsored censorship is nothing new. How many of your favorite conservative commentators still have sponsored YouTube channels? How many of them can get ad revenue from any of the far-left tech giants? The purge has been systematic, efficient and ruthless for several years now. And, none of the tech giants have shown any shame or remorse in their actions.
As always, it’s important to point out that these movements are perfectly legal. Trying to force Facebook to post Alex Jones content is, at least in a manner of free speech arguments, akin to forcing a Christian baker to make a cake for a gay wedding. Conservatives understand this.
That doesn’t mean we should like it. The whole point is to make it as public and obvious as possible every time a biased company like Twitter silences people on the left for nothing more than their political affiliations. It’s important that we don’t let them make these attacks in the shadows. It’s also important that we work diligently to hurt their pocketbooks. An attack on a conservative voice is an attack on conservatism itself. If you want to stave off the open and dangerous persecution that is clearly around the corner, you have to be proactive now.
All of this is to say that the tech companies are at it again. For the moment, Twitter is leading the latest charge. Maybe they’re making up for lost time from dragging their feet in banning Alex Jones. Whatever the case, they are far from done attacking the right. This video explains it all.
