Lock her up! We all chanted it. It was a major part of why we elected Trump in the first place. He was a bit of an unknown, but he was easily the better choice than a known criminal. Now that we have the benefit of hindsight, we can see that electing Donald Trump was a knockout win for our country. Even his biggest supporters have been pleasantly surprised by his successful leadership.
That brings us to an important question: why hasn’t Hillary been investigated? For Trump’s part, it was clearly a lower priority. He couldn’t send investigators after her without it looking like a political attack. Besides, he had a struggling economy, a crumbling border, massive trade deals, Syria and North Korea occupying his attention.
On the other hand, there were Republicans in control of two chambers of Congress. They had substantially more freedom to act. Why didn’t they? Were they too busy repealing and replacing Obamacare?
We have to acknowledge that the GOP Representatives have failed our country over the last two years. The Senate has failed too. It’s easy to forget with so many wins, but those were almost entirely to Trump’s credit. Well, maybe it’s better late than never, but in their last month of power, House Republicans are trying to right a few wrongs. Take a look.
