Comedian: I Was Taught Republicans are Evil

President Trump has been the frequent target of late-night hosts like Steven Colbert and the mainstream media, labeling anyone who laughs along with him rather than at him to be not politically correct.

Left-leaning comedians like Dave Chapel have recently lamented what some term “the death of comedy” because of a fear of offending anyone in our PC culture.

Chris Rock told Frank Rich of New York Magazine that he had stopped playing college campuses because, in his words, they are “too conservative.” He didn’t mean in their political views but “in their social views and their willingness not to offend anybody.”

Dennis Miller, one of the few big-name conservative comics talked about this in his book The Rants where he writes:

Trying to negotiate straits of what’s acceptably funny nowadays is like trying to navigate through the Sargasso Sea of plastic toadstools in the middle of a bumper pool table.

Miller contends what one is willing to laugh at says a lot about them. “Laughter,” he says, “is one of the great beacons in life because we don’t defract it by gunning it through our intellectual prism.”

Watch the video as Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report chats with comedian Bridget Phetasy about how she was raised to believe all Republicans are evil and hate poor people. Now that she labels herself a moderate, see what she has to say about today’s Republicans.
