Can you believe this?
CNN, the world’s fakest network in the history of news, claimed in a recent story that a hurricane’s having a female or male name (examples: “Irma” versus “Harvey”) has a bearing on how many people are killed or injured by such storms. Can this actually be a real news story?
That’s the reaction in this video to CNN’s thought process behind this ludicrous report of political correctness and alleged sexism. For decades, it seems the United States Weather Bureau (USWB), forerunner of today’s National Weather Service, which is officially in charge of giving hurricanes names, only used female names out of a tradition that started with the U.S. military in World War II. But that changed in 1978 when liberal outcry forced the organization to start using male names as well.
But, as Dice explains, U.S. residents apparently have different perceptions of a hurricane’s strength and destructive power based on the gender of its name, which leads them to either prepare more or less for its effects, depending on the amount of their bias (which CNN argues is irrationally high). Yes, that’s the hype that liberal university gender studies professors are promoting via the progressive mainstream media!
