Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) appeared on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday morning, championing his own moral integrity. Schiff told host George Stephanopoulos, “I don’t think any of us have any question that had Barack Obama engaged in the activity, the conduct which is the subject of these articles of impeachment, every one of these Republicans would be voting to impeach him.”
Schiff then added, “And you know something, I have to hope to hell … if it were Barack Obama, I would vote to impeach him.”
Impeachment is a serious matter, but Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, and their Democrat cohorts have made it hard to take seriously. Whether it’s Pelosi yucking it up while handing out $1500 pens to sign the articles of impeachment or Schiff claiming Trump’s actions are far worse than anything Nixon did, Democrats have become a caricature of themselves. They are desperate to get Trump out of office any way they can.
When Stephanopoulos asked Schiff about the possibility that Trump would be acquitted in the Senate, Schiff said that would not be a failure. “At least,” he said, “it’s not a failure in the sense of our constitutional duty in the House.”
Sorry, Mr. Schiff, your duty was to be true to your oath from the day you took office — not twist it to suit yourself.
