You’ve probably heard of the Hippocratic Oath. It’s the oath doctors take before they begin practicing medicine, and it begins with “first, do no harm.” It’s kind of a creed for people working in medicine that reminds them of why they’re doing the job, and it’s intended to help them avoid distractions that can get in the way of doing a good, ethical job. Did you know that journalists have a similar creed?
The Journalist’s Creed is a bit wordy, but here’s a brief summary. Journalism is a form of public service. Being accurate and fair is fundamental to good journalism. Journalists should only write the truth. Journalists should not be greedy for power and remain unswayed by the clamor of the mob. They should give every man a chance and that briber by one’s own pocket book is as bad as bribery from another.
Does that sound like modern media? Are they fair and accurate? They certainly claim to be, but every day we see countless examples to the contrary. They contradict themselves and get caught in lie after lie, scandal after scandal. Clearly, the mainstream media has strayed very far from the principles in this oath, and that is why they are failing.
Add this video to the long list of evidence against mainstream media and CNN. It shows their clear lie, and it shows how they feel obligated to insert themselves into stories rather than remain objective, honest observers. Watch this video as intently as you do the rest. As soon as we let our guard down, we’ll probably be caught in another media lie.
