Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is running his mouth about guns again—and reminding every freedom-loving American why he should never be taken seriously on the Second Amendment.
This time, Schumer is attacking President Trump’s “big beautiful bill,” which includes the Hearing Protection Act—a long-overdue piece of legislation that would finally remove suppressors from the outdated restrictions of the National Firearms Act of 1934. It’s a rare and much-needed win for gun owners and defenders of our constitutional rights.
Under current law, buying a suppressor means dealing with absurd red tape: a $200 tax stamp, months of ATF delays, and extra federal scrutiny—all for a tool meant to protect hearing, not enable crime.
But instead of dealing in facts, Senator Schumer is doing what Democrats do best: spreading fear and lies.
“Who wants a silencer? Not the average citizen… The only people who want silencers are criminals,” Schumer told the media.
Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a “silencer.” That’s Hollywood fiction. Suppressors reduce the noise of a gunshot—they don’t magically make it silent. Hunters, sport shooters, veterans, and law-abiding citizens use them to protect their hearing, not commit “deadly deeds” like Schumer absurdly claims.
And yes—police departments and military units around the country use suppressors too. Why? Because they work, they save hearing, and they don’t turn anyone into John Wick.
Schumer either knows nothing about firearms—or he’s lying to scare gullible voters and demonize gun owners. Probably both.
