A Fox Business report revealed China’s military has been harvesting and collecting DNA from millions of pregnant women in more than four dozen countries around the world via a popular prenatal test sold by China BGI Group.
Congressman Darrell Issa said, “China is a big national security risk, and every product they make has the same capability. If you’ve got a WIFI or a router or a telephone system made in China you have to assume that they are harvesting whatever data they want.”
He added that in China, “Their military essentially owns any industry they want to own directly or indirectly, so they get a level of cooperation and design and development that allows them to use it, as you know, data harvesting, stealing, or spying tools, and they do all three.”
This is just the beginning. The report highlights that this is the same country where we likely had the COVID-19 virus escape from a Wuhan lab. We’re not talking about a nation looking out for our best interests, but rather for a competitive and military advantage.
