A father from California is going viral for exposing just how completely BROKEN California’s Democrat-run Socialist healthcare system is.
The man in the video is Robby Witt, a California native and popular TikToker who revealed that a simple ambulance ride for his daughter cost nearly FOUR TIMES AS MUCH… just because he had insurance.
The video is from late February but it has exploded on social media recently.
Witt’s daughter needed life-saving medical care and he was in for a brutal surprise when he got the bill.
Initially he was billed $600, but that was because they didn’t have his insurance information on file so they gave him the “self-pay” discount often applied to those who don’t have insurance.
Once he sent in his insurance information the bill SHOT UP to $2,342 – and the kicker? He still had to pay $1,264 out-of-pocket after his insurance paid only $1,078.85.
He was not “eligible” to go back to the self-pay rate because they had already uncovered that he had insurance, even if he canceled his insurance. Witt and his family were literally forced to pay more money out of their own pocket because they had insurance in this crooked far-left state.
Witt called in to the healthcare provider and the operator informed him that the reason for this is a new 2024 Democrat-passed law in California called AB-716 which grants massive discounts to the uninsured while forcing the insured to pick up the tab.
