Townhall reports billionaire Melinda Gates is “furious” and “incredibly disappointed” President Trump has put Americans first to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. She argues the United States and other wealthy nations are obligated to provide vaccine access to those in impoverished nations just as quickly as American citizens.
Claiming, “Everyone needs the vaccine,” Gates Foundation chairwoman Melinda Gates argues “this disease is going to bounce around. We’re going to see twice as many deaths.”
How does she know how many people will die? Even the CDC’s statistics are far from accurate according to many reports. But common sense dictates that those who invest the time and money to develop a vaccine should experience its benefits first.
President Trump just signed an executive order in support of this policy. Placing Americans first in line for the vaccine follows his mantras of “America First” and “Make America Great Again.” Should we send the vaccine to China first, the nation that downplayed the danger over the virus from the start?
Maybe we can send it to Iran and give them a head start at recovery so their radical regime can continue developing nuclear weapons to destroy Israel and America? How about North Korea? I’m sure they would be happy to work with the fraudulently-won Biden administration to obtain a vaccine.
Gates may want to help those in need, but Trump’s philosophy is similar to what every traveler experiences when boarding a flight. In case of emergency, place the mask over your own face first. Then help those around you. America first is not in opposition to others, but leads the way to serve others.
