President Joe Biden demanded this week that gas stations lower their prices immediately. He stated to gas stations, “Bring down the price you’re charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product.”
It’s obvious from that statement that Joe Biden has been a career politician with no real world experience. Otherwise it would be clear to him that that policy wouldn’t work and every business who followed his advice would go out of business. Stations aren’t charging a higher percentage. They’re passing along the costs of higher priced oil due to decreased production from suppliers.
The president also urged Congress to approve a gas tax holiday. That could save you 18 cents per gallon, but that still leaves prices at just under $5 per gallon, about $3 more per gallon than two years ago under then-President Donald Trump.
What’s particularly worrisome is if Biden uses the Defense Production Act like he’s threatening to do. This means the federal government could expand powers over gas prices during a time with already record highs. It would give this loony president expanded powers so he could mess things up for the country EVEN MORE than he already has.
The gas price situation was fine until Biden got into office. It’s not an accident. It’s the main factor in a disaster administration that is quickly becoming worse than Jimmy Carter’s one-term presidency. Another proposed Biden abuse of law. Gas prices have nothing to do with national defense and nothing to do with the Defense Production Act. Biden will use anything, even unlawfully, to advance his leftist agenda and increase Democrats’ power.
