We can’t talk honestly about Candidate O’Rourke and be PC. It’s one or the other. So, let’s not pretend that his nickname is Beto. That’s an Irish guy trying to fit in with the Hispanic crowd in his hometown. More importantly, O’Rourke is a desperate candidate whose only tactic left is aggressive political Hail Marys.
This is a man so low that he can’t even manage to rally support after his hometown was victimized with a high-profile mass shooting.
It’s not for a lack of effort. He very suddenly pivoted his campaign to be all about gun control, but he hasn’t managed to win any support anywhere along the way. He’s only making enemies, and it’s because his understanding of politics and America is exactly what you would get from an Irish guy trying to pull off the name Beto.
His latest gaffe will really put this in perspective. First, let’s give a little credit. He’s the only candidate willing to admit that he wants to ban all semi-automatic weapons and introduce a gun confiscation (politely described as a mandatory buyback). The other Democrat hopefuls have danced around bans or said they would only ban certain things.
When confronted with the reality of trying to strip guns from Americans, his response was a total doozy. He thinks that Americans would rather give up their rights than go down fighting.
