The host and founder of The Young Turks Cenk Uygur believes along with many others in the progressive left that Joe Biden is just a placeholder until establishment Democrats replace him at the Democratic National Convention this summer.
Lawrence Person’s BattleSwarm Blog writes the “corrupt wing of the Democratic Party” represented by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and many in establishment Washington seem, “Intent on denying Bernie Sanders the nomination at any cost, and Joe Biden is the vehicles they’ve chosen to do it. They also seem to feel that Biden’s cognitive decline won’t be an issue once in office, as they’ll have their own hand-picked people in the veep spot and important cabinet positions.”
The mainstream media all but ignores Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, you have to read online news sources like us to get wind of Biden’s frequent gaffes. Biden, who has been dubbed “Sundown Joe” and “Slow Joe”, is not just having isolated senior moments but rather what Persons calls a “buffet of word salads.”
What doesn’t make sense to many pundits is why establishment Democrats are lining up behind Biden. As Person’s notes, Donald Trump would likely “shred Biden in the general.”
Uygur voices the concerns of other progressives that it is a dangerous assumption to think Trump will not call attention to Biden’s obvious declining faculties.
