Who is going to be the Democratic nominee? We’ve had bigger, more pressing issues, so a lot of people have stopped watching the Democratic race very closely.
They also all seemed to take a break over the holidays, which was, frankly, a relief for the whole world.
Well, the primary voting will very soon be upon us, so we have to look back in and see how things are going.
Before the new year, Biden was still a clear frontrunner. It’s kind of amazing, really, that he held the lead for so long. No one really likes Biden; they just seem to actively dislike the other candidates more. It’s easy to sympathize. Biden is a pretty bad candidate in a field of reckless crazy people who would burn down the world just to get into the White House.
A new poll is showing an important shift. Biden still has the lead in the national averages, but we’re at the point in the primary where the state races matter more. Iowa is on everyone’s mind, and in Iowa, Biden is no longer on top.
In fact, it shows a candidate in front who has not led a single poll since the primary race started early last year. It’s Bernie Sanders.
This is more than just a single poll favoring Sanders. It’s the very poll that has predicted who would win the entire nomination in the last six presidential cycles.
That’s kind of a big deal.
It doesn’t mean that the primary is over and we can all move on to the main event, but it does show that Bernie’s poll numbers are better than his EKGs.
In this video, they’ll break down the polls, and show you what to expect as the primary race finally gets serious.
