People on the far left fundamentally misunderstand conservatives and conservatism. The opposite isn’t as true. Most people on the right, when they’re being honest, can perfectly understand the appeal of progressivism. It sounds really nice. Let’s take care of everyone’s needs and help them achieve their dreams!
It’s not this motivation that is a problem. It’s the bad policies that have no chance of success.
On the reverse side, progressives just assume that conservatives are small town hicks who are hateful, evil or some combination of those things. Since universal health care sounds nice, only someone who hates the poor could possibly be against it, right?
They don’t bother to look deeper into the policy and see what conservatives are really saying. The programs cost more money than the American people actually have. That’s problematic.
This problem runs deeper than a political misunderstanding. Progressives really don’t understand how anything works on a mechanical level. They don’t have the mental fortitude to look past their nice slogans and wishful thinking. That’s what really makes them so dangerous.
This video is a perfect example. Bernie Sanders is making some wild suggestions about the American people. His entire position is based on a lie, by the way. The United States provides more tax-funded health care than any other two countries combined. That said, you should watch this video and really pay attention to Bernie. He actually believes what he’s saying. That should scare you more than anything.
