Ben Shapiro on Obama Violating the Logan Act

Ben Shapiro, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Wire recently spoke with FOX News’ “America’s News HQ” host Leland Vittert about a number of topics concerning presidential politics including the little known Logan Act.

After a clip of former president Barack Obama speaking at the Paris Climate Change summit, Shapiro turned his attention to this act that Democrats now claim Trump and Pence have violated.

Watch the video (starting around minute 2) as Shapriro sheds light on the issue:

The fact is that a lot of people are saying that Mike Flynn violated the Logan Act when he was talking with the Russian government about policy for the incoming administration … I don’t see why what Mike Flynn was supposed to be doing talking to the Russian ambassador is so bad, and the fact that Matt Drudge is pointing out that if we’re going to start going Logan Act on people then Barack Obama would be in that penalty box, he’s not wrong about that.

Shapiro questions if the Logan Act is even constitutional and points out that it has only been enforced one time since its passage over 100 years ago. He adds:

During the Bush Administration Nancy Pelosi was flying over to Syria and making her own foreign policy. If we’re going to start imposing the Logan Act as some sort of actual legal standard, there are going to be a lot of people who find themselves in the dock.

Ben makes a great point there and has a lot more to say about Obama’s unlawful acts in the video below.
