A Christian fire chief who was fired for his personal religious beliefs has received some justice at last. Kelvin Cochran was fired by the City of Atlanta after he wrote a book discussing his Christian faith.
So, what was it that he said that was such a crime in the eyes of the City of Atlanta? He mentioned homosexuality in one paragraph of his book. For offending The Diversity Police™, Cochran was told that he was “unqualified” to serve as the city’s fire chief. The mainstream media had this story under a complete and total blackout… because former chief Cochran was black.
Imagine any other scenario in which a high-ranking, wildly successful black person was fired and told they were “unqualified” because of their religious beliefs. The media coverage would have been wall-to-wall. Chris Matthews on MSNBC still talks about any time a conservative criticized Barack Obama’s policies as if it was a dark night of KKK fascism in racist America.
It’s not like Cochran expressed his (frankly) majority viewpoint on homosexuality while he was on the clock for Atlanta. It was one paragraph in a book that he wrote on his own personal time.
Democrats consider mainstream Christianity to be a disqualifying factor when it comes to public service. We’d better not tell them what Moses said about qualifications for civil government! Someone might realize that the US Constitution is largely steeped in Christian concepts.
Check out the discussion below of the unjust firing of former Chief Cochran, and the nice payout he’s now received from Atlanta.
