There’s an odd fact that seems easy to forget in the modern age. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the governor of California for almost a decade. Ok, maybe you remember that.
What’s even harder to remember is that he was a Republican that whole time. His final term ended in 2011. As recently as 2011, California had a Republican governor. Isn’t that crazy?
Granted, Schwarzenegger had some pretty left-leaning policies for a self-proclaimed Republican, but in today’s California, even admitting you’re red-blooded is enough to get you attacked in public.
California fell down a deep, dark liberal hole in less than a decade. Sadly, it seemed to take Schwarzenegger with it.
He has been a loud critic of President Trump and conservatism in general. He still claims to be a Republican, but he has abandoned any real sense of living up to that title.
Yet, just when things seemed truly hopeless for the Governator, a dim light of hope emerged. He publicly announced his intent to work with President Trump on an issue. He also expressed gratitude. Naturally, the left is trying to devour him for it.
The most wholesome part of all of this is President Trump’s response. If there’s one thing we can trust, it’s that President Trump is benevolent to those who give him the chance to be. You can see the whole exchange in this video.
