Try to imagine this for a moment. Back in 2008, a Bush-staffed Department of Justice was worried about the socialist and potentially communist policies and agenda of Democratic front-runner Barack Obama. Concerned that this candidate could become President and actively work to undermine American security and well-being, Bush had his people wiretap Obama’s campaign. They also planted assets within the ranks of Obama’s people and closely looked for any signs that he was secretly an enemy of the state.
Despite those efforts, Obama was elected anyway. Not content with the election results, holdovers from Bush’s days worked to undermine everything Obama tried to do in office. They arrested countless members of his inner circle. Despite all of that effort, they couldn’t prove Obama’s nefarious aims. Worst of all, the entire campaign against Obama was built on a falsifiable dossier that was construct and paid for by the GOP.
How would the left respond to that story? Would Bush be in jail? Would he at least be under investigation? As you can see, this is the exact story of what has happened to President Trump, only a few names were changed to make a point. This is how outrageous this entire Russia-probe witch hunt really is.
And, let’s not forget that the probe has failed to find Russian collusion. Instead, they’ve found potential finance violations that were an honest mistake at worst.
