Americans Increasingly Giving Up on God

A new report shows Americans are leaving their religious institutions at a shocking rate. Many of those who are leaving have said that they have become atheists and no longer believe in God or in organized religion at all.

Much of the blame for this shift can be attributed to progressive and liberal teaching that shames people for taking part in churches, synagogues or other religious groups. Instead of respecting religion as a source of spiritual strength, liberals and progressives have chosen to mock followers as weak and as sycophants used by corrupt group leaders.

It’s time for conservatives to remind people of the positive qualities of religion and that a belief in God is not a negative trait. Religious organizations have an important role to play in society, and in the past, they have been a tremendous pillar of strength in local communities. Many people’s lives have been turned around, saved and improved due to religious outreach and affiliation.

It’s unfair and unjust to characterize religion in a 100-percent uncompromising negative light. Opinion needs to be changed on this subject.
