Turns out Americans love their Black Friday deals more than they love Democrat talking points. Who could’ve guessed?
In what can only be described as a political faceplant, a Soros-backed campaign to boycott Black Friday shopping completely flopped—and not just by a little. The so-called #WABIT movement, short for “We Ain’t Buying It,” promoted by Alex Soros, son of George Soros, and current President of the Open Society Foundation, tried to paint major retailers like Target, Home Depot, and Amazon as villains. The boycott aimed to punish Target for rolling back its DEI policies, Home Depot for allegedly enabling ICE operations against laborers in its stores and Amazon for funding the Trump administration to secure corporate tax cuts. The left’s plan? Hit ‘em where it hurts—right in the wallet.
Except, Americans didn’t just ignore the protest—they broke records.
Black Friday online sales hit a jaw-dropping $11.8 billion, up 9.1% from 2024. Over half of those sales came from mobile phones. Total retail spending rose 4.1% year-over-year, with e-commerce up 10.4% and in-store sales rising 1.7%.
Spending continued throughout the entire weekend with estimates of $5.5 billion in online sales coming Saturday and $5.9 billion on Sunday. Cyber Monday was projected to hit $14.2 billion. Holiday shoppers were locked in and loading their carts. So much for the boycott.
And here’s the kicker: these big retailers rely on thousands of small businesses to supply and ship their products. So while Democrats thought they were sticking it to corporate America, they were actually hurting Main Street. Tom Sullivan from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said it best: “There are dozens of small businesses in that transaction.”
National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett: "We just had the best Black Friday that we've ever seen… Retailers expect that both online and in-store sales are going to be the highest we've ever seen." pic.twitter.com/zKhSJNXThI

Meanwhile, the Democrats are still cleaning up their own mess. After a 43-day government shutdown that accomplished nothing and exposed massive fractures in their party, they’re now dealing with backlash over a bizarre video where six Democrat lawmakers told members of the military and intelligence community should ignore orders from President Trump. That didn’t age well—especially after a deadly attack on National Guard troops near the White House.
And just when you thought they couldn’t dig any deeper, the Epstein files dropped, linking high-profile Democrats to the disgraced financier. Suddenly, the party of “transparency” got real quiet.
The left tried to cancel Black Friday. America canceled them instead.
