AI Nightmare: Trump Chief Of Staff Hacked, Impersonated By AI – You Could Be Next

Susie Wiles, the chief of staff in President Donald Trump’s White House, recently had her cellphone hacked and the hackers then used artificial intelligence to impersonate her as they reached out to several top politicians and business executives – welcome to the future.

Some of the individuals contacted by the hackers pretending to be Wiles said that the AI Wiles was virtually undetectable compared to the real Susie Wiles.

It was only when these individuals grew suspicious and began asking certain questions that the real Susie Wiles would have certainly known the answer to, that they knew it was some kind of imposter.

 

At one point, the hackers attempted to obtain sensitive political information like who the president might be considering pardoning. At another point they straight-up asked for cash.

The FBI takes all threats against the president, his staff, and our cybersecurity with the utmost seriousness,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement. “Safeguarding our administration officials’ ability to securely communicate to accomplish the president’s mission is a top priority.”

But this is a terrifying glimpse into the kinds of things that powerful new artificial intelligence tools allow people to do – even those with bad intentions.

The FBI said that as far as they’re aware, no sensitive information was leaked, but next time we might not be so lucky…
