2020 Election is Just Months Away: Will Trump Win? Tucker Carlson Warns Republicans Not to Get Comfortable

Many political observers, both conservative and liberal, have mused that the impeachment hearings may clinch the election, instead of help defeat, President Trump in November.

Susan Glasser of the New Yorker, who is no conservative observed there was a moment during House Judiciary Committee hearing in December when one Democrat “taunted” his Democratic colleagues saying, “Say goodbye to your majority status, and please join us in January 2021, when President Trump is inaugurated again.”

Glasser wrote, “Republicans echoed him, reflecting the capital’s current conventional wisdom that the President, although he remains disliked and distrusted by a majority of the country, is not only going to emerge from impeachment with a largely unified Republican vote to acquit him but also strengthened for his reelection campaign.”

American Spectator columnist David Catron says there are three reasons Trump will reelection:

  • Voters are hesitant to replace a president during a time of historic prosperity and peace.
  • The transparently partisan impeachment vote in the House, likely to be followed by a fair trial and quick acquittal in the Senate will damage the Democratic brand and fan the flames of the internal civil war between its moderate and leftwing factions.
  • That division will produce a weak compromise candidate, Trump will beat with his unified base.
