2020 Candidates Can’t Name Mexico’s President

In a rare show of journalistic honesty, CNN’s Jake Tapper took several of the Democratic presidential hopefuls to task for not being able to name the president of Mexico during a Telemundo interview.

“I forget,” Steyer said when asked. Klobuchar offered a simple “no.”

Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg was the only of the three who correctly identified Mexico’s president as President López-Obrador.

Buttigieg couldn’t resist taking advantage of his fellow candidate’s misstep when he said to a crowd of supporters later, “That there is more to being prepared than how many years you spent in Washington…Look, I get this question a lot you know, ‘What makes you think you can run for president when you haven’t spent years and years in Washington?’ And I always say that’s, that’s kind of the point.”

Considering how the press jumped on President Trump for tweeting after Kansas City won the Super Bowl, “Congratulations …. You represented the Great State of Kansas … so very well.” The tweet was deleted 11 minutes later when the Chief’s home state was correctly identified as Missouri.

Considering the ‘virtual gaffe machine’ named Joe Biden, for the media to spend so much time on a mistake that was corrected rather quickly the mainstream media showed its bias against Trump.

Time will tell if Democrats pay the same price for an honest mistake.
