President Trump’s son, Donald Jr. took aim at the mainstream media for its lack of coverage of the news of a man in Jacksonville, Florida who plowed his van into a Republican voter registration tent, barely missing six volunteers in the process.
Trump Jr. told Fox and Friends, “The [media’s] silence was deafening. The violence against conservatives, Republicans, and Trump supporters is so prevalent and so underreported, if at all.”
Action News Jax reported that, according to witnesses, Gregory Timm “ran over chairs and tables the day before at the Kernan Village shopping center.” Those at the first incident said Timm “made an obscene gesture and sped off.”
GOP chairwoman Ronna McDaniel later tweeted, “These unprovoked, senseless attacks on @realDonaldTrump’s supporters need to end.”
Trump Jr. said if that kind of attack had happened to a supporter of Senators Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders it would have been the “number one news story all over America.”
He added, “There’s not a journalist that wouldn’t be covering it ad nauseum for weeks. … It’s getting to the point of tacit complicity from the left and from the media, which are basically the same thing at this point. It’s truly disgusting.”
Trump Jr. said that Americans are sick of the media’s double standard.
