Speaker of the House Senator Nancy Pelosi showed her distaste for President Trump at his annual the State of the Union address by making a grand gesture of ripping his speech up. Since then, much of the mainstream media has sought every way possible to excuse Pelosi for what Republicans have called a “disrespectful” and “mean girl” act.
Compare that to 2009 at President Obama’s healthcare speech before Congress when South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted over the President, “you lie.”
The cameras that night focused in on Nancy Pelosi’s shocked look as she searched who dared to disrespect President Obama in such a way. CNN, MSNBC, and the rest were sure to replay Rep. Wilson’s words and Pelosi’s reaction for the next 24 hours along with the commentary on the “lack of civility” shown by Obama’s detractors.
After the speech, Republican Sen. John McCain appeared on CNN’s “Larry King Live” to say there was “no place for” for Rep. Wilson’s comment “in that setting or any other, and he should apologize immediately.”
When Pelosi addressed her caucus the day after her stunt at the State of the Union this Wednesday and sensing little to no rebuke from the press, she doubled down. She told reporters she felt “liberated” adding, “What we heard last night was a disgrace.”
Watch the video as The Daily Caller shows side by side how the media reacted to Obama and Trump. Exposing Democrats and the mainstream media’s hypocrisy is the only way to get them to stop this nonsense.
