As most Americans know, Puerto Rico was hit extremely hard by Category 5 Hurricane Maria two weeks ago. Even before the storm made landfall, U.S. federal agencies such as FEMA were coordinating a response for the territory and its people. But because of the truly horrendous damage to water and power infrastructure and communications networks, this aid has hit bottlenecks in getting to the island, which is over 1,000 miles from the U.S. mainland.
In the wake of the disaster, Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló has repeatedly praised the response of President Trump and told the hosts of ABC-TV’s The View that he’s been in touch with the president every day since the crisis began. But that’s not the message that the mainstream media has promoted; instead, the weekend after the hurricane hit, the media claimed President Trump was off tweeting about the NFL and ignoring the hurricane damage to the island.
In this clip, Deputy Administrator Dr. Dan Kaniewski of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) accuses San Juan, Puerto Rico Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz of skipping important meetings of the Joint Field Office coordinating help and instead taking time out to bash President Trump in the media.
It’s been reported that Cruz is taking her direction from Washington Democrats. Is it any surprise that out of 78 Puerto Rican mayors, she’s the only one blasting Trump while the island’s governor and other leaders have commended him?
Watch, as the obviously frustrated Kaniewski blasts Cruz’s clearly slanted response.
